Ok, I have to admit, I am an Amazon Prime addict. I never understood the value until my husband got the subscription and he started to use it. Now I can’t stop. Instead of using gas to go to the store to buy things like razors, laundry detergent… You order it online and it comes to you, with two day shipping, and typically it costs less that buying it in the store. No brainer! Is 90-something dollars a year worth countless extra hours to do whatever you want? Absolutely it is. Besides, we’ve probably saved more than $100 by getting products cheaper than at the store. Not to mention saving the gas to get there, the wear and tear on your engine and tires, and YOUR TIME. That’s extremely valuable. Time is something you can never get back.
So anyway, on to the smoothie.
I had some extra spinach, a couple bananas that were getting squishy, a little OJ, some costco frozen pineapple chunks and some Nutiva Organic Chia Seeds. So I put everything but the chia seeds in a bowl and attacked it with my submersion blender. I cannot, for the life of me and since we’ve moved, find my regular blender top. It worked, so whatever.
After mixing, throw in those chia seeds, and enjoy!
This even made enough for later! I’ve thrown in extra chia seeds so it will gel up real nice, and packaged it away to chill in the fridge. (stirred well, after this picture, of course)
Review: Delicious. For those of us that are not used to eating a lot of sugar, it is deliciously sweet. You can’t even taste the spinach. It tastes just like a fruit smoothie – it just is green.
Next time: better be soon, this was awesome! This is definitely being added to the frequently-made list.
Notes: My chia seed bag seemed a little pricey at first, but it has lasted me soooo long.
